Han completed his MFA at the School of Visual Arts, attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and participated in residencies at the CUE Foundation and Art Omi. He had a solo show at Kyungin Museum and participated in international shows in Shanghai, Poznan, and Seoul. Han has exhibited at Video Dumbo, David Zwirner Gallery, 55Mercer Gallery, Asian Contemporary Art Week, M.Y. Art Prospects, National Museum of Contemporary Art in Korea, Hoam Gallery, Gallery Sang.

Han’s performance and computer-generated video installations originate from metal sculpture, calligraphy and architecture. The strategies of focus, discipline and repetition found in the practice of yoga and running are evident in the artist’s process. Both digital and analog video are used in his work, coming together in the attempt to find truth and revelation in contemporary philosophy, politics and international relations in respect to the artist’s own experience.

The words and philosophical concepts of Hegel, Confucius, Buddha, Jesus, the Presidents and other influential public figures are frequently re-appropriated in the work to support the artist’s musings. These become tools for the artist to explore, construct and finally understand his own beliefs and experiences, prompting his own philosophical “re-awakening”. Both chroma-keying and frame accumulating techniques are essential to his work, and help create fantasies that transcend time and space. Also pertinent to this end are the use of various forms of satire, time-lapse techniques, emotionally-charged vocals and choreographed movements.
