Smack Mellon presents the latest sounds by new musicians every first Thursday of the month. The Press Play concert series is held in conjunction with the Dumbo First Thursday Gallery Walk.
Build, a five-piece band led by composer/violinist Matt McBane, "has been attracting serious attention with its genre-traversing mix of chamber-music decorum, rootsy twang and pop-fueled drive" (Time Out New York). Its eponymous debut album released in 2008 to wide acclaim.

Two Trees Management, in collaboration with participating DUMBO-based galleries, is proud to host an evening of art and culture as part of its series, “First Thursday,” the monthly DUMBO gallery walk. First Thursday is a festive monthly occasion for visitors to immerse themselves in DUMBO’s extensive art and cultural offerings. Stimulating and fun, participating galleries open their art-filled spaces and celebrate with receptions, live musical performances and artist/curator talks. Neighborhood bars, restaurants and stores join in First Thursday by offering individual promotions and specialties.
