Although I am an artist in nature I have pursued careers in heavy equipment operation, residential home construction, automotive repair, environmental and civil engineering. My inquisitive, perhaps unsettled, nature has propelled the way I create to evolve with my careers. From capturing the world and human figure in two dimensions with sketches and oil paintings, to conveying abstractions in three dimensions with ceramics, metal, wood, stone, water, light and vegetation; fluidity is the consistent stream that links these components in my life.

Fluidity is the liquid nature of form, light, color and materials.

My Flock House residency will focus on the liquid intersections of lifestyle and structure, the flowing together of technical and artistic elements to improve the quality of modular life with the possibilities of the resources at hand:  water. adaptation. materials. function.beauty.
