'PETER DUDEK AND ELANA HERZOG'

Absurdist Modernism is one way to think of Peter Dudek’s abstract geometric arrangements. The forms are clean, but they’re also in constant motion as the artist adds and subtracts throughout the run of the show. Elana Herzog’s work adds a complementary impression of instability: swatches of plaid fabric stapled to the wall, then apparently ripped away, leaving shreds behind. (Ms. Herzog also has a show at LMAK projects in Chelsea.) Smack Mellon, 92 Plymouth Street, Dumbo, Brooklyn, (718) 834-8761, smackmellon.org, through Nov. 11. (Cotter)
