Double Dutch Dreamz: Jumping For Justice

Jumping For Justice taps into the energy of a popular play-time activity to address issues of social justice, civil and human rights.

Single and double dutch ropes are turned at variable speeds as jumpers enter the arc formed by the ropes.  The cadence of  rhythmic chants, poetry and improvisational theater will coalesce to create a more purposeful community gathering. An invitation is extended to all in the surrounding perimeter of the ropes to “Get Your Jump On!”

Recommended for ages 8 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This presentation will be sign interpreted.

Jumping for Justice is an inter-generational direct action initiative of the Double Dutch Dreamz founded by Malika Lee Whitney performing artist, author, educator, broadcast journalist and interfaith minister.
