Poets from all over Brooklyn and other parts of the city come together to speak out for the lives of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, Trayvon Martin and other victims of needless police discrimination and violence. In the spirit of the recent NYC Poetry Rally and in sympathy with #BlackPoetsSpeakOut, #BlackLivesMatter and other protest movements, we call for racial justice and equality and the greater exercise of empathy and imagination in American life.
